A Whole-Home Safety Assessment is a nonclinical review of the physical home environment. Triangle Home Safety looks at the places where changing mobility, balance, vision, reach, or everyday routines can make a home harder to use safely and comfortably.
The goal is not to sell the biggest project. The goal is to give the homeowner and family a clear, prioritized plan: what deserves attention now, what can wait, what may be worth planning for later, and when another professional may be the better fit.
A Clear, Nonclinical Scope
Triangle Home Safety assesses the physical home environment, not the person medically. If an occupational therapist, electrician, plumber, remodeler, or other qualified professional appears to be the better next step, we will explain that rather than stretch beyond our scope.

Home Safety Assessment vs. Occupational Therapy Home Evaluation
Triangle Home Safety focuses primarily on the physical home environment and practical modifications within our scope. An occupational therapist may evaluate how a person’s physical, cognitive, or functional abilities interact with that environment and may make individualized clinical recommendations. Depending on the situation, a family may benefit from one or both.

What should I expect to pay?
The Whole-Home Safety Assessment is $295. It includes the in-home review and written Triangle Home Safety Plan. Installation materials and modification work are separate unless specifically agreed and quoted.
Timing
How long does it take?
The in-home review typically takes 75–90 minutes. Timing can vary with the size of the home, the number of areas being reviewed, and the questions the homeowner or family wants to discuss.

Apply part—or all—of the assessment toward a qualifying package.
The assessment remains valuable on its own. If you decide to move forward with a package, part of the fee can follow you into the project.

Whole-Home Safety Upgrade
If you choose the Whole-Home Safety Upgrade, the full assessment fee is credited toward the package.
Assessment credit applies to one qualifying package booked within 45 days of the assessment and cannot be combined with other promotions.

Yes. An adult child or other family member can initiate the request. We still confirm access, communication preferences, and any necessary permission with the homeowner or appropriate decision-maker before sharing findings or project information.
With permission, Triangle Home Safety can share written findings, project photos, and completion information with family members who are helping coordinate care or home improvements from another city or state.
What if an OT or PT has already made home modification recommendations?
If an occupational therapist or physical therapist has already identified specific home modifications, you can share those recommendations and request the appropriate modification work directly.
Triangle Home Safety does not replace a clinical evaluation. We can work from recommendations the client chooses to share when the requested work falls within our practical, nonclinical scope.
Can safety improvements be completed during the assessment visit?
Sometimes. Straightforward improvements may be completed during the same visit when the scope is clear, the right materials are available, and site conditions allow.
More involved work, additional products, or conditions that need further review are scheduled separately. The assessment is still valuable on its own because you receive a prioritized plan rather than only an installation estimate.
What types of work are outside Triangle Home Safety’s scope?
Major structural remodeling and work requiring a licensed trade are evaluated separately and referred when appropriate.
Examples can include significant electrical work, plumbing alterations, major structural changes, full bathroom remodeling, and other work that should be completed by a properly licensed specialist. We explain those boundaries clearly so families know who should handle each part of the plan.
How is a Triangle Home Safety assessment different from an occupational therapy home evaluation?
Triangle Home Safety focuses on the physical home environment and practical modification opportunities. An occupational therapist can evaluate how an individual’s functional abilities interact with the environment and make clinical recommendations.
Some families need only one of those services, while others may benefit from both. Triangle Home Safety does not diagnose, provide therapy, or represent its assessment as a clinical evaluation.
